Valley of Flowers Near Badrinath is nestled in the Himalayan Garhwal region, the Valley of Flowers is not only a scenic destination, but because of its proximity to many religious sites. Also, It is also near prime importance for religion. Badrinath is one of the most famous of those religious sites. Generally, Most trekkers take the route from Govindghat to Badrinath first, arrive back after the darshan at Govindghat and continue their trek to the Valley of Flowers. To schedule your ride from Badrinath to Flowers Valley, you will have to hike for 25 km, compared to 18 km from Govindghat.

Valley of Flowers is spread out in 87.5 sq. A not so challenging trek. Kms. Kms. A green landscape with snowy mountains at the background. On the way to the valley, the thick alpine forests allow you to soak in the panoramic views of the snow-glaciers. Along your way you'll also come across some of the Himalayan region's least explored areas. The supportive hill people's happy faces reflect their stereotypical lives in modern-world today.
Badrinath: Lord Badrinath Temple was built about two centuries ago by the Kings of Garhwal. This Badrinath Temple has three sections: First Garbhagriha (Sanctum), second The Darshan Mandap, and third Sabha Mandap. Lord Badri Narayan, Kuber (God of wealth), Narad Rishi, Uthavar, Nar and Narayan are housed in the Garbhagriha (Sanctum). Lord Vishnu Narayana (also known as Badri Vishal) is seated in a raised pose with Shankha (Conch) and Chakra in two arms and two arms lying on the lap of Yoga Mudra. The main image is of black stone and it portrays Vishnu sitting in meditative pose.
Reach Badrinath to Valley of Flowers
As already mentioned, the distance from Valley of Flowers to Badrinath is 25 km. It doesn't mean you have to walk all the way though. You can get to Badrinath by taxi from Govindghat. It is an hour's journey, and on the same day you can come back. Your 18-km trek to the Valley of Flowers begins from Govindghat. Elderly people and children can also take ponies or a helicopter service to the basecamp in Ghangaria, just 4 km from the Valley of Flowers.

We visited Valley of Flowers with 4 of family members in July 2016 with Global Connect Hospitality. We arrived at Haridwar by train & stayed in pre-booked hotel, the hotel was good enough for one night stay. Next day early morning, we left hotel for Joshimath. Almost full day travel by Innova.
We got drop from Joshimath to Govind Ghat to start the trek for Ghangharia, which is moderate and can be done comfortably by anyone with normal fitness, the best thing was that entry ticket was pre-booked for us, it enables us to start early morning for the Valley. It took just 4 hours to reach the valley. Surrounding was amazing. At few points, the trek was wet and slippery. So, better to take walking sticks during the trekking.
We enjoyed there the beauty of the valley which was beyond our expectation & since none can stay at the valley in the night so we had returned back to Ghangharia at 4:30 PM.
It was certainly a whole life experience……thanks for everything arranged for the amazing trip!!
