The Brahma Kamal is the Himalayan's most revered flower. It is an excellent example of high mountain plant life (3,000-4,600 m). The flowers grow in monsoons and abundant in places of high altitude such as Flowers Valley and Hemkund Sahib. The flowers of Brahma Kamal are used to give Nanda Devi Temple. The Indian Postal Department issued a postage stamp to commemorate this flower.
Brahma's Lotus: This beautiful flower's name can be translated as' Brahma's Lotus.' The founder of the Universe, Lord Brahma, is always represented as sitting on a massive lotus holding one in his hand. To Lord Brahma, another name is Kanja or the one born out of the sea. So, think schools say Brahma was born from Lord Vishnu's navel while others say he was born from a huge white lotus we call Brahma Kamal.
The Life-Giving Lotus: A famous tale about Ganesha's birth. Brahma produced Brahma Kamal on Parvati's order, with whose aid Shiva put an elephant's head on Ganesha's body. As Shiva tied an elephant's head to the body of Ganesha, he was sprayed with water from a Brahma Kamal. That's why this lotus has the status of the gods ' life-restoring flower. The flower has many medicinal properties in order to evaluate it in terms of modern science.
The Golden Lotus: Draupadi accompanied them when the Pandavas were in exile in the woods. She was continually tormented in the Kauravacourt with painful memories of her attack. A forest life's struggles have also taken its toll on her. She saw a beautiful lotus floating away in the stream one evening. She felt a strange joy that was almost spiritual after she saw this golden lotus bloom. But the lotus fell as fast as it had flourished. In his search for the flower he encountered Hanuman (Bhima's elder brother), Draupadi sent her most devoted husband Bhima to look for it. Since a lotus is normally pink, a shimmering' silver' can mean' golden. This story also relates to this enigmatic herb.
Wish Fulfilling: It is believed for a long time that anyone who sees this rare flower bloom will have fulfilled all his or her wishes. Watching it bloom is not easy because it blooms in the late evening and only lasts for a few hours.
Likewise, in Ramayana, when the herb of Sanjivani was given to Lakshmana, he revived miraculously. God showered flowers from heaven in celebration, falling to the earth and taking root in the Flowers Valley. So, it's named Kamal Brahma.Quick info:

Flowering season: June to July
We visited Valley of Flowers with 4 of family members in July 2016 with Global Connect Hospitality. We arrived at Haridwar by train & stayed in pre-booked hotel, the hotel was good enough for one night stay. Next day early morning, we left hotel for Joshimath. Almost full day travel by Innova.
We got drop from Joshimath to Govind Ghat to start the trek for Ghangharia, which is moderate and can be done comfortably by anyone with normal fitness, the best thing was that entry ticket was pre-booked for us, it enables us to start early morning for the Valley. It took just 4 hours to reach the valley. Surrounding was amazing. At few points, the trek was wet and slippery. So, better to take walking sticks during the trekking.
We enjoyed there the beauty of the valley which was beyond our expectation & since none can stay at the valley in the night so we had returned back to Ghangharia at 4:30 PM.
It was certainly a whole life experience……thanks for everything arranged for the amazing trip!!
